Applica Consulting provides consultancy services within communications technology, including system, software and hardware development.

kommunikasjonsteknologi.jpgWe assist clients in specific phases of their project, or we complete the entire assignment from 1) system analysis and specification to 2) development of software/hardware testing and 3) validation of the final hardware/software/system. We also provide expertise regarding technical project management and testing activities in addition to traditional systems work.

Applica Consulting provides services within all phases of the systems development process.

Systems engineering is relevant throughout the entire project life cycle:

  • Studies

We have been especially involved in the design of military communication systems in both Norway and other NATO countries, and for over 25 years we have assisted in standardizing NATO communications systems.
We have experience within systems engineering in the following areas:

  • Civilian/Military Tactical and Strategic Communication Systems
  • Information Security (Crypto, Common Criteria Evaluation, etc.)
  • Air Traffic Control Systems
  • Administrative Systems
  • Internet-based Systems
  • Mobile Networks, including Ad-Hoc Networks (Architecture, Services, Protocols)
  • Communication Protocols (TCP/IP, ISDN, EUROCOM)

Database Systems (Oracle, MS SQL, Access, etc.): Since 1995, we have been under contract to Thales Communications AS, assisting them with systems engineering in two large-scale projects: 1) SiSam: communications system for the Norwegian Air Force’s air traffic control centers, and 2) ACCS: communications system for NATO’s air defense forces. Several of our consultants are currently or have been project managers for these activities. In addition, a substantial part of the systems engineering work for the ACCS project has taken place in an international working environment in Paris.
